VPK - Four YeAr Olds
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program is designed for "little learners" who turn 4 on or before September 1. Using the state Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten learning standards, our Links to Literacy, Handwriting Without Tears and Phonemic Awareness curriculums are designed to prepare your "little learner" for Kindergarten. Using a whole-child approach, learning takes place over five domains: sensory, cognitive, social emotional, and physical. An emphasis is placed on early literacy skills including phonemic and phonological awareness. "Little Learners" will be introduced to Dolche sight words and word families, laying a solid foundation for reading skills.
The daily schedule allows "little learners" multiple opportunities for a variety of teacher- and child-directed activities. Daily outside play, learning centers and sensory experiences ensure children will have a well-rounded Pre-Kindergarten experience. This class participates in a snack co-op.
